Being injured at no fault of your own is frustrating and difficult. Whether it be a slip and fall, a motor vehicle accident, or something in between, injuries can affect our livelihood and impact our ability to work. As we physically try and recover, stress levels may increase when dealing with insurance adjusters, insurance companies, lawyers, health care providers, etc. On top of it all is the pressure of obtaining a successful personal injury claim. We suggest following these four steps:
(1) Seek medical attention. It is important to obtain a proper diagnosis of your injuries and receive medical treatment from your doctor as soon as possible. While you may not be showing any signs and symptoms of a possible injury, it is important to remember that some medical issues may become more apparent over time.(2) Report your accident. Remember to keep a record of the incident, including what happened, when it occurred, who was involved, the names and contact information of any witnesses, and any other relevant retails. We suggest taking photos where possible. This record may need to be reported to the police, building owners, the municipality, etc.(3) Provide notice of your accident to an insurance company immediately. A delay may affect your claim.(4) Contact an experienced personal injury lawyer as soon as possible. Our office offers a complimentary fifteen minute consultation meeting to discuss your matter.
Let us take the weight off of your shoulders and place it onto ours. We will provide you with guidance, protect your legal rights, and lead you through this difficult process. We are here to help.
